HIV/AIDS, The Law & Human Rights Resource Manual

The Medical Schemes Act governs the Medical Aid providers and stops them from discriminating against people living with HIV/AIDSaware and informed about HIV/AIDS
Authored, edited and produced by DFA/Street Law staff, the HIV/AIDS, the Law & Human Rights Resource Manual, examines HIV/AIDS from a human rights perspective and looks at how the law protects the rights of people living with the disease and how one can support and understand their predicament. Issues dealt with include HIV/AIDS and Labour, Children's Rights, Health Care, Prisoner's Rights and the Learning Environment. Included in the manual are exercises and discussion points that facilitators can use in workshops.

HIV/AIDS, the Law & Human Rights is a cohesive, easy-to-use educational tool. Those utilising the manual in workshops will be able to make participants aware of their rights regarding HIV/AIDS, legal routes to take should their rights be violated, as well as practical suggestions as to how to deal with the disease, should they be infected or affected, in every-day life.
