Drawing up a will before dying saves the deceased's relatives a lot of trouble in terms of having to make decisions during an emotionally stressful time
A patient must be given informed consent to all forms of medical treatment, and may also refuse consent |
Established in 1998 with funding from the Ford Foundation, the Democracy & Human Rights Resource Centre collects and classifies relevant training materials and information related to democracy, human rights and legal education. These are often used to support the Street Law programme and materials are sourced for workshops and training.
The Democracy & Human Rights Resource Centre is housed at the National Street Law Office on the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban campus. Here educators, trainers, students, social workers, human rights workers, can access materials in the area of democracy and human rights, ranging from children's rights to HIV/Aids to Race Relations. A photocopier is available to make copies as books are not on loan. Videos are also housed in the Resource Centre and a viewing can be set up should it be requested. The videos are only on loan to students who run Street Law and Democracy for All training in schools and the community.
If you require more information about the Resource Centre, have materials that you think would be of use to us, or would like us to search for materials for you, please write to info@streetlaw.org.za with "Resource Centre" in the subject line.
